Emergency Management

Mission:

To provide our residents, and community partners the education and support necessary to mitigate death and human suffering, property damage, and to protect environmentally sensitive areas from all types of hazards through a comprehensive, all-hazard emergency management program.

Vision Statement:

The goal of the Town of Coyle Office of Emergency Management is the safety and well-being of our town and community partners.  With the use of tools such as radar, early warning systems and more comprehensive communications, we will be better prepared as a community to take on the hazards we as Oklahomans face every year.  Bridging the lines of communications between our residents, our school, the town and emergency services with faster access to information through websites, text and email alerts, community outreach will allow us to grow stronger and come closer together.  Coyle Emergency Management looks forward to helping foster this environment of cooperation and strength to be better prepared if and when disaster strikes.

Siren Test:

Coyle EM will test our storm siren, located at W Lincoln and Asp, the second Monday of each month.  If the weather is clear, the test will be conducted at noon for approximately one minute. On inclement weather days, overcast, raining or threats of storms, the test will be postponed until the following clear weather Monday.  This test will regularly conducted to ensure proper maintenance and operability.

In the event of severe weather, this alarm will be preceded by notifications on the Town's website and in conjunction with a text alert.  We are constantly monitoring the weather, and in communication with the National Weather Service in Norman, to ensure our community's safety during severe weather events.  We are OK First certified, and use the latest weather forecasting and monitoring tools, such as the OK Mesonet, Weather Radar and even satellite imagery to help keep you informed.

Holiday Safety Tips:

The Town of Coyle Office of Emergency Management and the Coyle Volunteer Fire Department would like to wish you all a very safe and happy Holiday Season!

This is a wonderful time of year for getting together with family and friends to celebrate life and togetherness.  It is also the time of year we see so many fires and holiday injurites.  So, as you prepare, we would like to encourage you to take some additional time to check your smoke detectors, ensure your holiday decorations are not located next to a heat source and get rid of your old ratted out lights to prevent any untimely mishaps that could ruin your holiday plans all together.

From all of us, Happy Holidays!
